VrayforRhino course at the Politecnico di Milano

Poli.Design, Consortium of the Politecnico di Milano, and I have finally started new courses in which Rhino is planned to be used as VrayforRhino rendering engine instead of the ancient Flamingo.

Monday 'last December 15th, we held the first official lesson VrayforRhino.
11 students attended the course MDSPI, Master in Design for the development of industrial products.
The lesson has ranged on the general themes to use the software, set-up of the lights, creating a complex material, rendering parameters.
The examples have been the pen, the first example that can be found on my website http://www.vray.it/ , and an example again, the rendering of a clock in alluminio con cinturino in pelle serigrafata con un logo.

Gli studenti, per concludere il corso, dovranno preparare un modello e 2 rendering con VrayforRhino. Consegna 12 gennaio 2009.

Vi aspetto per valutare i loro elaborati.
(ps: i modelli sono veramente fatti bene!)

Unwrapper for texture Rhino

Once stretched faces can be changed, with standard navigation tools, scaling and rotation.
The software uses a texture "base" useful to collimate the size of the faces, replacing that with a texture created ad hoc with Photoshop can be mapped, praticamnete flawless, even the most complicated objects.

once the editing stage is the mapping possibilòe reapply the original object with a simple click.

In addition to the package are also a useful plug-in toolbar.

I did some testing with this instrument and I can assure you that it is very intuitive. The hard part is to readjust and reconstruct the faces to match their expectations. Speaking of a free tool, which is useless for 3D painting, we can accept this effort.
